I was starting my education at the one and only Texas A&M! I was the first of my friends to leave to school, and I was so anxious to leave home. Although i was bummed out that i wouldn’t get my summer break between high school and college, Gateway was going to open doors of opportunity that I wouldn’t have received if i was a regular admin. I made so many friends during gateway, and 3 of my closest friends I have now I met that summer. SO much in my life has changed, and I have grown in more ways than I could have possibly ever imagined. I am confident in who I am, and know that I still have so much room to grow my next 3 years at Texas A&M.
I made life long friendships, fell in love for the first time, had heartache, grown spiritually, experienced things i never thought i would have, grown intellectually, and most importantly I lived. I can really say I’ve lived my life as fully as I can. I’ve learned to not be so selfish with my heart and all my relations have benefited from it.
And gateway was the foundation to all the growth i experienced my freshman year. So to class of 2016 gateway, prepare yourselves for the time of your life. The interim acceptance you used to be embarrassed of is about to become something you will brag about to everyone in the fall (I PROMISE). Keep your head up, and study HARD! Getting a high GPA will help you if you slip up during the next year. You’re about to meet an amazing group of people and who ever they chose to mentor gateway from my class I can already assure you are some incredible people! Don’t be scared because you got this!!!! Welcome to the Aggie family, i WILL be seeing you in the fall. I would never take back my summer in Gateway, and I know you won’t either once you experience it.
“Your 20’s are your ‘selfish’ years. It’s a decade to immerse yourself in every single thing possible. Be selfish with your time, and all the aspects of you. Tinker, travel, explore, love a lot, love a little, and never touch the ground.”—Kyoko Escamilla (via livefortravel)
“After the finale, The Legend of Korra fans can learn more about the mythology and creation of this franchise by tuning into the Nicktoons’ “Korra: Making of a Legend” special event from July 9 – July 20 during which all twelve episodes from Season 1, Book 1 will air weekdays at 9:00 p.m. (ET/PT). Each “creators cut” episode offers insight into the creation of the stunning imagery, mythology and storyline where series creators and executive producers, Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, provide commentary.”
Sounds great! I don’t have Nicktoons so it would be great if someone could record that and put it online; that way people who don’t have Nicktoons/live outside the U.S can watch it too.
Gotta watch it. Damn.
