2 Peter 1:20-21 says, “Know this first of all, that there is no prophecy of scripture that is a matter of personal interpretation, for no prophecy ever came through human will; but rather human beings moved by the holy Spirit spoke under the influence of God” (NAB).
There must be only one arbiter and it must be in complete unity so that the Spirit does not inspire contradiction (it must be one); it must be filled with God’s grace (it must be holy); it must profess the same Truth in all places (it must be universal); it must profess the same Truth in which the apostles believed (it must be apostolic). These are the four marks of the Catholic Church!!!
As Christians, we’re often gung-ho for drawing physical boundaries, but we forget that emotional lines are just as important. By all means, make sure that you don’t go too far physically, but do not forget to guard your heart.
I believe salvation is personal and no Christian has the right to say “this person is going to Hell because they do not follow Christ”. Didn’t we learn back in John 8:7? Telling non-Christians that they will go to Hell if they don’t start coming to church is like casting a stone at the adulteress. It is never our place to judge a person’s soul. End of story.
